Gaziantep, the second most crowded city of the Southeast Anatolian Region, is the 9th largest city of Turkey with its population over 1.2 million people. The city which was built on historical Silk Road, is located on the crossroad connecting south to north and east. Gaziantep Airport was opened in 1976 and started International Line flights in 1993 in order to serve in the international arena. The new Domestic – International Lines terminal building opened in 2006 in the airport, which has total 8 airplane parking areas, serves approximately 4 million passengers annually.
